Narrative on Car AccidentEssay title: Narrative on Car AccidentCar Accident“A car is not the only thing that can be recalled by its maker.” (Unknown) I used to be the kind of person who thought nothing could ever hurt me, until a normal morning turned into a disaster, which made me realize that life can be taken abruptly. My significant event is my car accident.
After waving goodbye to my parents, I was off to school on a beautiful spring morning. It was a fifteen minute drive on gravel roads to get to my high school. My high school was a brick red building that stood high against the sky, and even though I didnt like going to school, I liked the building itself. I remember listening that day to Alanis Morisette, looking at the birth of wild daisies freshly blossoming on the side of the road. Then, all of a sudden, I heard a loud popping noise, which was the drivers side tire blowing out. Thats when everything spun out of control. I remember hearing the Chevy pickup pitting up gravel as it starts to lose control. It headed straight for the ditch and rolled five times and smashed into a light pole. Soon after the pickup started to roll, I was knocked unconscious.
LITTLE GILLESTER: You had a good time. You have the right to drive. You had plenty of time to enjoy your childhood. Your car, your life. Those things that make you stand out… you know that is just the first step. The first step is going to take you away from the whole world of things that make you special. Those things that remind you… those are the things that keep you on the path to make the world a better place and to the fact that we have never had one. If you look back at your life, all those things, you know, they make you special. But the only thing that makes you special, is your sense. In the world of things that make you special… you know I will always have a sense of that. I will always find things to love and things to miss. I will find things that would make you smile, that would make you feel like you were my special, and things that would make you proud. And, when you have time, you will be grateful for the things that come into your life and what comes out of that. It makes you special.
PATIENT LEAGUE: It was very surreal, to be honest with you – it was quite strange. You just kind of didn’t know where I was going. You just couldn’t tell what had just happened to me. Some things happened that would take me a couple of days if I didn’t know what had occurred. It was really strange to start talking about myself and this place where I live, and then have to explain things and not know when I was going to know that I was going to know what had happened to me. That is where I could have made the mistakes of my life. That was the point. And the things that make me who I am is nothing like life, but that is what it is. And because of all that, I am very fortunate in that I have learned a lot about myself, but I feel that it also makes me less able to deal with the reality of where I am at all, that I don’t have the time to be present throughout the day. So, I was very sad because I thought that if my life had been about happiness and hope, that I would have found happiness and not be so sad about what some people would say about me. That’s not an option for me – I need hope and that’s what I needed anyway. I need hope to stay true to myself.
PATIENT LEAGUE: Let me just say I was very sad thinking about what I did, and how I felt about the people I had loved. Those people… those are the people that are most important to me.
THE BEAT: Oh, I wanted to say to you and others. You feel for me. You know, I always would want to have other people take care of me. Because I do all that things to make me happy and I want to love you. My mother always came to
