It is true that communities are vital to decide how producers become and bring together the community and consumers. Most rappers in the United States are mainly from two parts: Western coast and Eastern coast. The Western coast style, also known as “g-funk” sounds slower and relaxed; the eastern coast style has simpler beats with hard rhyming and flow. The difference between those two rap styles depends on the local communities. Hip-hop in New York City mainly around the topics about underground world, which we call gangsta rap while Hip Hop in California has been politically and socially motivated.  According to Becker, the art piece is not an individual work, but is combined various elements, such as production, promotion and criticism that need all the people to get involved in. The artistic community needs to help to promote the art piece, just like the underground world helps to promote those rappers. Most rappers firstly gain the reputation among underground rappers; the record company tends to find talented rappers among those winners in freestyle rap competitions. Rappers like Snooppy Dog, Dr Dre, and LL Cool J all became famous in underground world firstly. Adversely, the culture originated from those rappers also helps community to define who are the community members. In addition, according to Lachman, Graffiti writers create graffiti through social interaction among each other. Rapping is another way of talking and interacting with somebody else. Through rapping, you are able to make judgment of others, express your mood and reflect the reality. The functions of rapping are exactly the same as graffiti. It is the community that gives rapper the inspiration to create their own words. Most rappers grew up in a certain community with specific culture, which can influence their ideology to a large extent. Most rappers do not learn the rapping skills from others. Their communities’ culture may associates with rap and hip-hop, which can subconsciously motivate the little kids to rap at a young age.
