Homelessness in the U.S.
Homelessness in America
For several years, researchers group together to find the right direction in analyzing how homeless people can acquire a better framework in a direction of regaining their dignity and integrity. Researchers were able to create an assessment tools that eventually produce a meaningful result. How can we end homelessness in the U.S.? What are some ways to prevent a growth in homelessness? This paper will discuss the different tools that can assess the homeless people in developing the necessary guide to overcome their present difficulties, mentally and physically.

In the state of Tennessee we experience great quality of life, and a hand full of our population live the horrible life of poverty and homelessness. There are about 46.2 million Americans, or 15 percent that are living in poverty. Therefore homelessness is growing rapidly across the country more and more people are having to stay with a friend or family member. There are a lot of different type of ways people could become homeless. There are also different concentrations of homeless in different types of terrain, such as urban or suburban areas.

The lack of affordable housing have contributed to homelessness. If a rent owner makes about $16.38 an hour his rent would be about $21.21 per hour that almost $5.00 more than he makes. How are we supposed to rent a place when we are barely getting by you can’t start a family of $7.25.

Other reason could be because of domestic violence. Many women has had to choose between and abusive relationships or being homeless. An almost 25% of single women who are homeless became homeless for choosing homeless than staying with their partner. Also some people became homeless because they couldn’t afford health care. Homelessness is an easy question we can answer but how many homeless people there are in the U.S. is hard.

We can estimate how many people are homeless but we will never really know because the homelessness population grow every day. They are people who or forced to live with a friend or family member. This is also considered homelessness because they don’t have a home of their own. 52% of the request to live at an emergency shelter didn’t get approved. The unemployment rate will not ever reach 0%.

What that means is if it do reach 0% no one will be homeless everyone will own a house. I think homelessness is a very hard battle to fight. In 2008 it wasn’t so bad for homelessness. But in 2005 to 2007 the number of homeless dropped about 30%. There where all types of programs that was being created one of those is including shelter plus care program. Its helping those who assistance to people with disabilities an addictions.

Homelessness is a problem ever society suffers from. There are a lot of thing I can talk about when it comes to causes of homelessness such as unemployment, relationship and a lot of more. There are a lot of issues around the topic of homeless children and runaways have been ignored. They have mostly focused this topic on homeless families with children. Not children that don’t have a place or someone to turn. Huge numbers of homeless and runaway children have walk all over the streets in every major city in the United States. As well as the country from small towns to rural areas homelessness is ever where. The first state to pass sterilization laws was an Indiana, in 1907. By 1944.

By a year later 30 other states passed the law. More than 500,000 people and 25% of those where children. Many U.S. Cities are confronting a sluggish economic recovery, stagnant or falling wages among the lowest income earners and budget constraints for social welfare programs.

We cannot ignore this problem of homelessness, we have to find solution that works. In a lot of homeless there is cycle that must be broken. Some ways we can help is by getting involved with someone at a homeless program through local organizations at churches, school, and other places. We must defeat homelessness and restore peace back to the streets at night. If we combat homelessness mean higher taxes to prevent the income of housing.

Homelessness can effect anyone even if you are well educated and not addict to drugs. Some reason why because people become homeless if their parents die that makes people feel like they have nothing to live. If people feel like they have nowhere to turn they feel like the streets is the only place for them. The number of homeless families with children has increased significantly over the past decade or so.

They are among the fastest growing segments of the homeless population. Together they are approximately 40% of all people who are homeless. Sadly, rural areas contain the largest group of homeless families, single mothers, and children. Emotions hit home when children and babies can be pictured living in an alley with only dreams of warmth, while
