Looking back on the youthful years of being a child, everyone remembers certain things that make themselves the person that they are today. Yes, it was an age of indiscretion and awkwardness, but it can help you answer the important question of “what makes an honorable parent?”РThe Webster Dictionary says that a parent is “a person in relations to his or her offspring.” When people look into their hearts, the word “parent” often brings about a much more meaningful definition. People acquire many life-long lessons and guidelines throughout their lives. Patience, support and unconditional love set the standards when it comes to exceptional parenting.Patience is a proven key quality that defines an honorable parent. It may seem like a small thing to some, but to a child patience is a greatly valued.Ð When a parent takes the time out of their hectic lives to sit down and help explain or solve a math problem with their child, even if it take twenty times, is what really sticks out in a young persons mind. Patience is a worthy trait that keeps most parents sane. Patience is what gives the “Little one” another chance when they stop believing in themselves.Ð An understanding and patient parent loves to go that extra mile to lend a hand when their child is reaching up for help.Ð A supportive parent is an important factor in a child’s life. Support can make or break a child’s mentality. For example, if the child failed that big math test they have been studying for all week, it is support from the parent that keeps them motivated to learn from their mistakes and try again. Support can also be used in giving advice. An example of this would if a parent does not like the peers that there child is around at school or the group they spend time with on the weekends, Then the parent needs to be their to point their child in the right direction. Also support should come from both the mother and father, when fulfilling a child’s desires and wishes.Ð
