What is the definition of determinism?
For everything that happens there are rules and within these rules there is no other outcome. For example: if I throw and apple up in the air the rules are, the apple will fall back down. No matter what I do the apple will always fall back down.
What is the definition of free will?
This would be to make a choice without any physical or mental limitations set by society. An example would be to sit around all day and ponder what the good life would be for oneself and not worry about having to provide for a family.
Do you agree that every event has an explanatory cause?
Yes, I believe there is a reason for every action that happens, if not we would not be bound by rules. If turn my shower all the way to the hot side, this will give me extremely hot water.
How do you define event?
This is when things in the world happen, from mentally to physical all the time, everyday. One event leads to another event and so one, it is never ending. How else could one explain the evolution of mankind from the beginning of time until present day? By a series of events that are forever happening and will continue to happen long after you and I are gone from this earth.
How do you define explanatory cause?
This is defined as an explanation for something that has happened, or the reason that something has happened. As before with the shower, the reason the water was extremely hot is because I turned the shower all the way to the hot side.
Do you agree that every human choice or event has an explanatory cause?
Yes, I believe everything we do is done for a reason, we eat because we are hungry, we drink because we are thirsty. Everyone has a cause to why they do something, whether is be self- gratification or any number of other reasons, it always has a cause.
