Life Of Bill CosbyEssay Preview: Life Of Bill CosbyReport this essayHello, my name is Bill Cosby. I am writing this to explain to you the trials and tribulations that I went through to become the success that I am today. Most people should know me seeing that I was the first African- American man to star in his own television series, and I am also a comedian, producer, and philanthropist. The name of my hit show is called The Bill Cosby Show, and it consists of many different characters and scenes. This show is meant to bring joy into your humble home and it is also meant to be very funny, which I think it already is. I have had the opportunity to play a role in many different movies and I also still to this day consider myself to be a much beloved and popular icon of the black community.
[quote=Hawk]I think the way the mainstream media or the TV networks or Hollywood or whoever has treated me the way they’re being treated is kind of ridiculous. You know, not even close.
I went out to some movies that were great.
Well then I just became a big fan of a certain movie, and I still just like it. I’m not going to pretend that it doesn’t have an impact on me and it doesn’t have that huge influence, because at the same time I think it does have a huge influence on us all, including the media to help us.
[quote=Franklin]I think they just completely ignored us.
Well I’m not gonna pretend it does, but it is interesting. I think there is an increasing amount of respect and acknowledgement of black women. And I think, as a black artist, I think black women are seen as a more important part of the community than maybe a white person would have.
So, that’s the key thing. If this is the people that want to put you out there as an artist, what does that look like for you?
I mean I can’t even go into that one too deep. I just want to point forward just what I love about my music, how I love music, how I love this art and also what makes it a great music to have.
[quote=Liz]It’s an honor being able to play guitar on stage, to be able to do that, because when you’ve got a good music career, the career of a musician, you need to be in the limelight. A musician can only create great music.
And that’s one of my goals in being on stage, that is how I am looking out for my own music, and that’s my passion in life as well. I’m an entertainer. I’m kind of a great person, too. I am like the best comedian of all time, and a great person.
If I had the opportunity to sum myself with three traits then they would be: Courage/Braveness, Smart/Intelligent, and Careful/Cautious. The reason I chose these three traits in particular is because I took a huge step by stepping out as an African- American trying to have a show business career and especially in the racial times. By doing this it took a lot of courage and braveness for me to be able to express myself and convince people that I was just as good as anyone else. I am also known as a Educator to the black community far as teachings the generation of this times about important skills that theyll need to know in order to survive in the real world, and as for my part I think I am doing a very good job at it. Finally, I chose cautious because doing my career I have made very careful decisions as far as taking my career up to the next level and staying a success.
I failed to mention when I was born and for that I am very sorry. I was born July 12, 1937 and I am still very young today if you get what I mean. Growing up I had inspirations that help decide that I really wanted to be in show business. One of my inspirations were my dad, and the reason is because he was a very hard-working man and he did his best to take
