Part of being a human being is having the right to practice freedom, dignity, integrity, and love. However, when these characteristics are disappeared from ones inner self, is he still a human? When these traits depart, all of humanity disposes and what remains is a mechanical creature who follows commands automatically without a second thought of questioning the higher authority. Despite the complications that could be acted upon a human, one will still have mannerism of a humanoid like beings. Giving and receiving respect when the situation calls for it, showing emotions and desire are all important aspects of life. Being a human being means thinking for oneself, and applying ones own knowledge toward life. Not acquiescing to excessive pressure, and believing in what one truly believes in. Human spirit has strong will. However, the will can be tempted with tortures and beatings. When pain is inflicted upon one, it is apparent to realize how easy people can give in, and forget about their teachings and beliefs due to pain. A man can never forget his longing for freedom, dignity, and integrity fore love. When no freedom is granted, one always wants to achieve the goal of being free. It is a characteristic of being human, same goes for dignity and love. Respect is granted when respect is given. Human beings thrive for attention, care, and an ear to listen.
In a Totalitarian society, the government controls all aspects of life; private and public. The government remain in political power through brainwashing the citizens with propaganda through the state controlled mass media. Three parties are established to divide the population up into more fit able groups. The Inner Party consists of highly educated comprised men and women who watch over the Ingsoc and the Thought Police, and keeps all Outer Party members under extremely close supervision. The Outer party makes up thirteen percent of the population in Oceania. They are the middle class, who perform most of the jobs for the Party to keep the government running. The Proles are mostly able to do what they want due to the amount of joy pornography and victory gin brings them. The government also taints some sort of drugs inside the alcohol to cause the Proles to thinking even more fuzzy and act delirious.
The government of Oceania uses three steps to assume control of the people that they govern. Learning, Understanding, and Acceptance.
