Course Title: Human Resources Management#Assignment 1 (Case Discuss) Student Name: KAM Yan YAN Student No: 15611879 Date of submission: 25 Aug 2015Traditionally, Human Resources Department are playing a major role in a business organizations which is mainly been a bridge between employer and employees.Furthermore, HR Department also responsibility includes human resources planning forecast demand and supply of labor, strategies for addressing labor shortage, Job analysis, Recruitment, performance measurement, reward management, training and development, career management and managing employee relation, etc.
But nowadays, we can find that there is a phenomenon is Line manager are becoming more involved in developing and implementing HRM practices. So, let discuss why these phenomenon are appear in recent year.As mention above, HR department are responsible for many aspects of Human resources practices. Sometime, Line Manager also handle same task with HR department, For, example, about the recruitment, HR department responsible mainly on the recruitment and select, understand overall personnel need and select a suitable candidates to fit on their post, selection techniques like tests, background investigations, and physical exams to identify viable candidates. Therefore, HR department will being a first interviewer. But some situation, the HR manager cannot replace the role of line manager, because, finally the employee will work with the line manager directly, Line manage must be understand the character of candidates through direct communication, eye contact, etc. also, they can deliver the message to candidates of “what they need to do” in work, thus, candidates also understand can fit the post or not. Upon that, Line Manager also needs to be an interviewer role and participate.
