More basic courses include fish, potatoes, pasta, vegetables, meat, etc. Most restaurants provide one vegetarian menu as the main course. Sala is eaten with almost every meal. Fresh cut cheese with a cup of coffee is usually enjoyed after a nice dinner. They have cafes where typical foods are sold at low prices. When hungry and on a budget, Swedish people will eat at IKEA to enjoy and a nice meal at a reasonable price (usually the meatballs). Sweden also has a great variety of bread that people typically eat with all their snacks. For example, a sandwich with thinly sliced cheese would be considered a quick snack that Swedish people typically eat. Knackebrod, a crispbread, is kept in the cupboard in many households (approximately eight-five% of households) where people eat it for coffee breaks. This bread has been considered the poor mans food for most of history because it is what the indigenous people ate to survive during rough times.

Just like everyone else in the world, Swedes gain a little bit too much weight from all the meatballs they stuff down their throats. When in these circumstances, Swedes turn to potatoes to get the summer bodies that their heart truly desires. According to many citizens, Swedish potatoes have a very low-calorie count and contain a lot of water which basically means you will get full faster than you usually would eating something else.
