However, exceedingly competitive business surroundings, settings, which compel constant alteration and in-house design otherwise even succeeding career responsibilities, which forms traumatic, working circumstances, regularly generate these pressures. Therefore, in this lofty paced business world, it is vital to evade lofty turnover costs with upholding decidedly motivated employees who are not renowned for their constructive organizational commitments and accomplishments.
According to Sims (2002), motivation is the process of satisfying internal needs trough actions and behaviors. It is apprehensive with a complex of psychological and physical drives, mutual with the surroundings, which makes people act the means they do (p.55). According to Adair (2004), motivation is concerning “something” in a person forcing them to shift ahead, to accomplish a goal, to construct growth in a duty. The “Something” is the lashing vigor perhaps a necessitate, a longing or an emotion, which directs a worker to proceed in a confident way.
There are a number of different views as to what motivates workers. The most commonly held theories would be discussed through this proposal and as to how it implements in the existing business world. For the above-mentioned topic, (Impact of Employee Motivation on Organizational Productivity) the research would be held at a constructing company held in Katubedda, Moratuwa where a far-reaching analysis would take place.
Research Problem
In the efforts of diverse researchers to distinguish the dissimilar aspects that may influence the organizational output by employees, the vicinity of motivation was looked upon as one of the momentous aspects. It has been renowned that in Sri Lanka, alongside the training and development, stress and time management, job satisfaction and additionally linked factors, the motivation amongst employees is one of the mainly significant yet ignored influential terms.
Hence, the idea of the subsequent research is to investigate the necessity of diverse motivational factors and how it affects the organizational productivity. This research would be based on a local constructing company, which will bring forward the importance of motivation in depth.
Ahead recognition of the significance of motivation, the research would analyze the upbringings of the specific company and the downfalls of the same company with relation to the above mentioned topic.

Motivation is not directly observable. “Motivation is an internal state that causes people to behave in a particular way to accomplish particular goals and purposes. It is possible to observe the outward manifestations of motivation but not motivation itself” (Denhardt et al., 2008, p. 147). Motivation and its purpose has been the core of subject in the Human Resource Department in many organizations. The motivation and its dissimilar idealistic observation generate a relation between the employees awareness and skills and the nature of their work (Wright, 2001). The focal point of the motivation is evidently about the populace and although dissimilar viewpoints, the motivation may approach from the internal facet of the employee or being pretentious by the surrounding.
Contemporary assumptions of motivation are considered to have matured away of the Elton Mayo-led study of employee productivity in most of the business world. Eminently referred to as the Hawthorn studies, Mayo and a preceding group of researchers deliberated the productivity of employees under altering conditions in temperature, illumination and humidity (Pennaock 1930).
