In the book “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, all of the situation that were
happening between Romeo and Juliet, including their death, could have been prevented in
many ways. There are three important points on how they could have prevented the death
of both Romeo and Juliet. They are, the family feud between the Capulet and the
Montague, the role of woman at that time, and their hasty behaviours. Now if we roll
everything up in to one, we would get pressure. Pressure is an important fact and should
be taken in consideration if dealing with Romeo and Juliet.
The first point is the family feud between the Capulet and the Montague. The family feud
has to do a lot about pressure. Ever since Romeo and Juliet met, the pressure has played
its part. When they found out that they’re both from the opposite families, they began to
worry and doubt on whether they should stop seeing each other or they might get caught.
The fight between the two families comes back a long time ago, which is kind of
unbelievable because they are still fighting when everyone knows that it’s not even their
fight anymore. “ My only love, from my only hates…” This was said by Juliet when she
found out what Romeo was. This also shows how worried she is. If it wasn’t for their
feud, Romeo and Juliet’s situation could have been prevented, this is relevant to today
because most teenagers get a lot of pressure from their parents, and sometimes decide to
run away. This is just one out of three important facts about the prevention of Romeo and
Juliet’s death.
The second point is the role of woman’s that time. Shakespeare really shows you how
bad and unfair woman were treated back then. Juliet gets a lot of pressure from her
parents because she absolutely has no freedom, from what she wants to do, to her choice
of marriage; but she is a role model to most woman because she shows determination and
courage. The nurse was also treated unfair because she was fat, she was a servant, and
she was a woman. This is also relevant to today because some people gets discriminated
