Relationship to our World and Deity
The Bible states in Psalm 139:13 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mothers womb” (NIV.) The painting should have this phrase or part of it; there should also be a womb with a baby in it to signify the birth of two religions coming together to but their differences aside. God knows every hair on our head, every thought we think, every breath we take (NIV.) This all being said in the Old Testament both the Jewish and Christians believe this about God and His love for us all. God created the Heavens and the Earth and in it all things. The Jewish and Christian faith was born out of the same thoughts and desires.
The quilt that is in the painting needs to represent many different ideas and conceptions. Each individual square of the quilt shows that each individual person that God makes is unique in his or her own way. Each color of the square also shows that there are many different parts of a persons make-up. God made each person different because it is the uniqueness of each individual that makes the World what it is. If people were made all the same, then life would be boring and that is not the way God had intended it to be.
There are two sides to a quilt; the backside is the side that keeps the squares together, is not fancy in most cases, and is the side that touches us. This side is our spiritual side; it does not have to be fancy or beautiful for God to love a person. The front of the quilt is the individual squares, the side that is beautiful, because God made each of us beautiful in His eyes. God gave us each an individual personality, each a unique way of seeing the World, each a path to life that is personal to that specific individual. This is the side that defines who a person is in Gods heart.
