In the Week 2 team paper we discussed potential variables that my effect the employees. An independent variable may include corporate demographics and a dependent variable may include the morale of the employees. Based on the sample size of the corporate office, a total of 125 people the demographics is made up of a majority of professionals (51) which include Finance Professionals (6), Engineers (18), IT (5) and those that are classified as all other professionals (22). The demographics can be broken down even further by race and gender. All of these variables may contribute to company’s success or morale.
Below are the standard deviations for all of the corporate employees both as a total and males and females by race. While these results do not provide any conclusive answers about morale the lack of diversity in this company may be a contributing factor to the morale of the employees.Descriptive Statistics Below is the descriptive statistics for the total number of employees. It shows the overall confidence level at 95% to equal 4.54 with a mean of 8.93 and a standard deviation of 7.87. The breakdown of confidence levels vary depending on the total number of employees in that particular category in addition to the mean and standard deviation respectively.[pic 1][pic 2][pic 3]
\[\frac{1}{2-8.93, 9.63, 9.90}{8}]
There is also a difference to the mean on the individual side in this case as some employees are the worst. Some workers and some employers may have good results, but others might have some negative results. To test the confidence level, you can use the NIST survey and run the following regression equation:
In the NIST survey you can see that there is a slightly positive correlation to unemployment among black employees. This does not apply in the overall estimate as if black is employed. This means there is a little more work that black employees take as a result of it compared to white/non-Hispanic employees:
Finally, after you have run the first regression, you can check the standard deviation of the results. Based on their values, this can be a good estimate of confidence in the companies confidence system. So to be a good candidate for a high confidence assessment, you can test for a few assumptions about a company’s company structure or by asking employees to come to you with one or more questions that don’t lead to much confidence.
Overall Comments
While the number of African American and Hispanic employees in this company was relatively low, they were all underrepresented amongst corporate executives. Most high value executives in these companies also showed an abundance of confidence in the company’s overall effectiveness.
In terms of the number of African American employees, it is much higher than the actual representation of the companies CEOs in general.
The percentage of black employees in total employed for these companies is the same as the other largest U.S. cities. New York and Chicago have the highest percentage rate of African Americans employed on the list. New York City is also relatively close to the top for it’s share of total African Americans employed.
The numbers of Black American workers in total employed are significantly higher than the average of these companies.
While large amounts of time in the workforce do not seem to create the desired number of opportunities, and a large number of Blacks are employed for a variety of reasons (from home economics, food preparation, cleaning out house chores, driving errands, health care, etc.), the number of Black female employees is in a good balance.
The percentage of women employed in the company and their percentage of black share is just slightly lower than the average of these companies.
Lastly, the percentage of Black female employees is slightly higher than the average of the other largest U.S. cities, Los Angeles.
Overall, it seems to be a relatively healthy relationship between the diversity of the businesses in these companies and overall work force participation. Therefore, overall it is quite good news for both company and individuals.
