There are a variety of initiatives a small business can take in order to decrease competitive disadvantages with competitors. For example, increase potential for company growth, increase long term revenues, centralize processing and increase overall business efficiencies. The 4Zain Limo Company implementing an information system project by creating a centralized processing database combined with a Web-based application, and surrounding security measures, would be an optimum solution that would satisfy these 4Zain Limo short and long term business goals.
The business problem 4Zain Limo faces is the lack of a centralized Information System. There is no system that automates and synchronizes client service and business initiatives. Without a system in place working to a companys advantage, there are risks which could result in dissatisfied customers/clients, errors from paperwork, inefficient communications and scheduling issues. There are no file backups or disaster recovery plans if records are loss or damaged. This may also result in lack of consistency in billing/invoice, inefficiencies in payroll and company reports. The current file system of using paperwork and keeping telephone reservations is outdated and has little room for future growth.
To mitigate these 4Zain business problems, this project of a web-based user interface (UI), and Database Management System (DBMS) supporting that user interface with security surrounding both UI and DBMS would make large ambitious strides in 4Zain achieving their long and short term business goals. This project will help move 4Zain Limo from paper to electronic company processing. This solution will centralize customer and servicing information; provide increased billing/invoice and payroll efficiencies, decrease unorganized filing; promote a user-friendly customer web portal for reservations, consistent scheduling efforts as well as useful management reports. This project initiative is proposing general security measures which will wrap around both UI and DBMS infrastructure that will assist in mitigating potential risks from external malicious intent, provide data integrity, and help prevent system failures.
The overall vision of this proposed solution transforms 4Zain Limo into a digital company providing opportunities for future growth as well as abilities to gain and sustain competitive advantage, increase overall revenues, and increase localized market share.
