Inspiration Narrative
What does someone do to inspire you? To me, inspiration is the process of influencing, moving, or guiding someone to do or feel something. Many people do things simply out of the kindness in their heart, and do not realize they are inspiring others around them. For me, my Dad is my biggest inspiration, from being the Valedictorian at Mason High School to being on the Deans List at Eastern Michigan University. My dad has taught me to never give up and to do everything you do to your upmost potential. My dad always inspires me to make goals for myself, chase my dreams, and to do things to help others.
Dreaming big and preparing for a successful future are two important goals for the classroom. Setting goals is the first and most important step. Growing up my dad always pushed school on me. He would stay up late; even though he had to wake up early for work, just to help me finish one math problem that I didnt understand. For example, one night we worked and worked on this problem and just couldnt figure out how to do it. The night was growing old and we went to bed. The next morning I woke up to find the problem laid out for me step by step on how to do it. No matter how tired or sick my dad was he was always willing to help me. Goals are one key attribute he always told me to set. He once told me, “Success is steady progress toward ones personal goals.”
I believe that inside every human being there is a desire to achieve their dreams in life. The way I look at it is, if you never chase your dreams you will never find yourself anywhere close to where your dreams take you. My dad inspires me to make my dreams achievable so that later in life I wont be disappointed when the dream I set is unachievable.
Every time I to go to school or to a friends house my dad always tells me one thing – stay positive and do something good for someone. My dad is the nicest person I know and has never done anything to bring someone down. He is always preaching wherever there is someone in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and to make a difference. Action speaks louder then words. Your character is shown by your actions behind closed doors. You may act nice and professional up front but the things you do when no one is looking really defines who you are as a person. He tells me not to be nice to someone just for your own gain. When you act dont boast on your actions but keep them to yourself.
A quote that sums up everything my dad stands for would be one by Mark Twain. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didnt do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover. -Mark Twain
Without the inspiration from my dad, and continuing to do things out of the kindness of his heart, I would not have
