What was your intake of fiber? Do you meet recommendations? Explain.
My intake of fiber in the 3 days I used on my report was 5.45 g for dietary fiber. I did not meet the recommendations for fiber which was 21.52 g. I didnt eat anything that was rich in fiber in the days I recorded for my report.
What was your water intake? Do you meet recommendations? Explain.
My intake of water was 908.18 g. The recommended intake of water is 3,700 g. I was way below the recommended serving. I didnt drink that much water in the days I reported. I drank a lot of juice and other beverages.
If you have any GI difficulties, can you correlate them with any of the foods you consume?
The lack of fiber and water in my diet has a direct correlation in the difficulties I have. I tend to be constipated when I dont have a lot of fiber and water in my diet. Because of the low numbers in my report it is very obvious that the foods I consume and lack of fiber and water are to blame for the difficulties.
What changes could you make in your diet to improve the health of your GI tract?
To improve the health of my GI tract, it is important to ditch my fiber-poor diet. I will add fiber-rich foods in my diet such as apples and whole grains. I will also consume more water and meet the recommendation for it. I will drink plenty of fluids and exercise regularly to prevent any symptoms of an unhealthy GI tract.
