Investing in ChinaAssessment:In the recent years, China has played a significant role in the world market. Most U.S corporations and international companies try to set their main branch offices in Beijing or Shanghai to earn more money. No doubt that China has a great potential to be developed better. However, the corporation should consider more about the drawbacks. Do not rush in China market, but think about the culture differences and some aspects that are worth investing, because the labor in China is not so cheap as before, at least in Vietnam or India the labor costs are lower. So figuring these problems out for the international companies is the first step to invest in China.Analysis:In the perspective of a Chinese, I wonder if it is good for companies to invest in China. Now in the society in China, most Chinese are regarded as xenocentric, who love buying foreign products. What’s more, except offering a lot of jobs, the corporation are also producing a lot of wastes and pollutions in China, which may hurt our health and environment. Moreover, the increasing competition leads the local firms hard to survive, which hurts our own companies’ growth and development. Actions:
As a Chinese, I think our local firms should have a global view about our market. So many foreign companies rush in China, we have an advantage over them so we should do better. Except developing the manufacture industry, we should focus on some emerging industries to form a better strength. What’s more, learn from the foreign big companies. When it comes to the environmental-friendly problem, I hope that the government should take some actions to prevent the pollutions and restrict the companies to develop in a environmental way. However, thanks to the enter of many international corporations, Shanghai has been an international financial center. So combine the experiences from foreign companies with our own strength, we can develop our own country with the investing by other firms.
The Shanghai City Council recently passed a resolution to close a loophole in the country’s regulatory state program to curb Chinese environmental pollution. The company has a big role to play in this action.
When China’s new regulatory system starts to be adopted by public opinion, it is because China knows it can create a world free of its environmental pollution. The government has also been willing to open up the market with financing for clean energy.
But after the Chinese government shut it down on Monday for a massive pollution study and the decision to close up shop, its reputation will start to wane. And if China does not get a better deal for developing clean energy, it will be tough to attract other countries to join in the fight against environmental pollution.
What the Environment
In terms of human health, the study on carcinogenicity was a key part of a study on human carcinogenicity in cosmetics. The European Union, a state of the art research institute based in Geneva, published the report in 2003 and, this year, came up with the regulation.
In terms of quality of life, which has been a significant topic in the environmental conversation, we are at a sensitive moment. We are in the middle of an epidemic of chronic disease. In recent tests using animals, researchers found that environmental factors affect the quality of life for human beings.
We all tend to be less sensitive to the risk of toxic chemicals than we are to the levels of other substances found in the environment themselves. According to a report published by the World Health Organization [PDF], “in a country like China, where a person may be exposed to levels of an extremely toxic substance in the workplace, there may also be a high number of cases of serious mental illnesses such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.”
We have become extremely exposed to a range of toxic chemicals in the environment. There has been a huge increase in carbon dioxide levels; there has been a big increase in sulphur dioxide levels; there have also been big jumps in the use of toxic chemicals across the global economy, according to the authors of the paper. There has been significant industrial pollution including coal pollution due to its high levels of benzene, but not for many reasons.
In addition, there is evidence that a wide range of environmental health factors play a role. These include changes in the climate and changes in our food systems.[1] These changes can put us at increased risk of disease, especially in the developing world (though, it is worth remembering, the vast majority of developed states do not meet global emissions targets; India and South Africa are among the best performing, with average global temperatures of minus 4C compared to minus 10C).
As discussed above, we see an increased risk for many aspects of the human health spectrum. In other words, much of society has become accustomed to more extreme conditions.
But here is a question: How might our human resources be better placed to prepare for many of these risks. How could we help our society and all the people around it respond better to these risks when we are in these conditions and so far so good?
To answer those questions, consider ourselves warned
