Internet Good or Bad
The Internet (World Wide Web) was founded in 1989 by Sir Timothy John “Tim” Berners-Lee with the basic concept of distributing a particular text massage through a faster channel. In today environment, Internet has created a gigantic impact throughout our daily lives in the way of changing the method of how people communicate, entertain and study. Through Internet, people can send or receive mails with just a few seconds, get information by just entering the key words into the search engine and also communicate with friends and families at anytime and anywhere that have internet connection. However, Internet is good and useful in our daily life but abusing the usage of internet has leaded us to deliberate that; is internet a blessing or a bane in today society.
From my personal point of view, I think that internet is a blessing to our society because of its easy and efficient communication abilities with huge data base of information and 24/7 accessibility. As a communication tools, Internet has created a new gateway which let people to communicate with their friends and families throughout the world and also allowing people to meet new friends. For example; Instant messengers like Skype has helped people to transfer text, sound and video to their friend and family and also created a place or channel for them to chit-chat and greet. Besides that, there are some other social networks tools like Facebook or Twitter have linked up our entire friends around the world and maintain a good connection with them as easily as across a meeting table. The social network tool like Facebook is also provided platforms that allowed their user to publish information, status, and their perception to make new friends which give us a opportunity to meet foreign friends.
Secondly, the biggest benefit that offered by the Internet is its huge database of information which is a valuable resource for all kind of research or ever as a learning tool. As a research and learning tool, internet offers a wide range of e-library such as Athens.com, Emeraldinsight.com and others that provided over thousands of e- textbooks and millions of journals. This allowed students or professionals to read through the data easily and shorten their time of absorbing new knowledge from days and months to only few hours. Besides e-library, people can also search related information by entering the key words into a search engine such as Google, Yahoo, Bing and more. Through these search engines, people will able to find any type of information on any subject they wanted more efficiently and get all kind of comments from the web to resolve it into a more accurate data or information. For example; when we planned to purchase a new released smart-phone, we can search information through some forums or website to understand the specification and the comment from the other user and evaluate the targeted product whether is worth to buy or not.
Besides that,
