INTRODUCTION
An introduction of the study was given in chapter one, highlighting the research question, purpose/objective of the study and the significance of the study.
In this chapter, attempt is made at reducing the large volume of statistical information (gathered from respondents) to manageable amount as a means of preparing them for other stages of analysis.
To do this, a statistical package (SPSS statistical package for social sciences) is used for coding, summarizing, and tabulation of the responses to the questionnaires.
A total of 50 questionnaires were distributed. 46 were returned. This shows a return rate of 92% from the respondent. The summary of the responses are presented below:

From table 4.1, the numbers of male and female respondents were 28 and 18 respectively. This constitute 60.9% and 39.1% respectively.

Table 4.2 shows the frequency distribution on respondents marital status. 32.6% of respondents were single, 65.2% were married, while 2.2% were divorced.

Table 4.3 shows the frequency distribution of population size of organization. 21.7% of respondents have a population size of 0 but less than 5, 26.1% have a population size of 5 but less than 10, 26.1% have between 10 and 15 staff strength, 4.3% for between 15 and 20 population size, 8.7% have between 20 and 25 employees and 13% have between 25 and 30 population size.

Table 4.4 shows the frequency distribution of educational distribution of respondents. 4.3% of respondents have secondary school leaving certificate (SSCE), 41.3% were OND or equivalent qualification holder, while 54.3% of respondents were BSC/HND holder.

Table 4.5 shows the frequency distribution of respondents opinion on effect of proper implementation of training and development on organizational productivity. 87% of respondents agreed that proper implementation of training and development, if effectively conducted, will lead to organizational productivity. 8.7% disagreed with this assertion.This ascertain the validity of the assertion that training and development in SMEs is an inevitable towards attainment of organizational productivity.
