The Islamic civilization spread from its beginnings in Arabia to its extensive empire encompassing the Middle East, parts of Asia, North Africa, and parts of Europe for many different reasons. This civilization was very successful because of the choice to either follow the prophet Mohammads instruction about conversion and the book of Quran or opposing it. The Muslims wanted to treat people equally and did not want to force their people into religion he just respect it. Finally, they seem to have a high-quality military in order to have a good explanation for conquest.
Throughout this civilization there were many different important things said by Mohammed to give choices to others about following in his ways such as in document one, “Believe or else pay tribute …..obey the Lord and His Apostles , and he will defend you, but if you displease them …. I will fight back and take captive of the young and fight the elders.” Here Mohammad makes perfectly clear that he will definitely defend those who follow in his path, but he will fight against those who stood in his way or chose to oppose his ways. Mohammad supports this statement by expecting the Muslims to follow him and when they do, God will bring them to paradise. Those who do not follow him or turn back will be punished as indicated in document 2. Both of these documents support how Mohammad reached out to others and preached come with us, and follow Gods footsteps or face terrible consequences by the God. Most people joined him and therefore helped to expand the new empire.

Their leader was just like them. They never distinguished between the master and the slave. At prayer time all washed their ands and feet and humbly prayed all together. The Islamic Civilization respected the Jews and the Christians for ” the older monotheistic faiths.” They never forced anyone to join their religion; in fact, they respected other religions and allowed them to retain their ancestral religion on payment of tribute, document 5. In the end, document 6, from this we can tell that many people wanted to convert to Islam because it seemed perfect. Islam appeared to be a very defensive religion and but its believers did not force others to convert to it.
Lastly, the Islams had a strong military and used it to destroy their enemies and achieve maximum conquest. ” The Moslems
