Background of the Study
The practice of on-the job training has been a part of the curriculum for students on college level. This training helps them accumulate further learning on the lessons that are taught in school, and enables them to practice these lessons in the actual workplace.

On-the- Job training (OJT) is a form of training taking place in a normal working station. It is sometimes referred to as “direct instruction” since it is a one-on-one training located on the actual job site where someone who knows how to do a task shows another how to perform it. Sometimes, it is simply a more experienced employee sitting with a less experienced employee to teach them how to do something.

Training typically acts as a supplement to pre-existing knowledge of a companys daily operations, thus on-the-job training is a supplementary activity to enhance a trainee’s learning about the actual work operations in a company.

Since some skills are better understood by demonstration than mere teaching, on- the- job training has served as a good proof for this by handing students information that is not readily picked from lectures in school. The impact of on-the job training to the trainees leads to the enhancement of their skills and expansion of their learning. OJT gives them the opportunity to acquire further understanding of the actual work process, in an actual work situation. Thus, having OJT in the curriculum really do helped students became equipped individuals in preparation to their future application for work.
