The Colonial Experience
The year 1588 was considered a turning point in world history. In this year, John Winthrop was born in 1588 in Suffolk of England who was an important instrument in establishing Christian awareness in the new world (John Winthrop).

“He had very stronger Puritan leanings; they wanted the Church of England to be rid of any ritual or ceremony that did not have the authority of the bible.” (John Winthrop) Even he had a sincere devotion to god and considered becoming a minister so that he seeks to honor god. But, he studied law at Greys inn in London. Until he had joined 700 colonists for the new settlement and assembled 11 ships with their sailors and officers sailed to American on March 22, 1630 so that they can increase the believer in Christ and preserves them and offspring from this evil world. John Winthrop believed the land they going to spread would be a sinless model Christian society which would be shine to rest of the world so that he called city on the hill, which was taken from Matthew 5:14 from the bible, to the fellow passenger on the Arbella. Later on, he and his fellow transformed the charter for their trading company into the framework of government for a colony in the Bay Colony, and he became the first governor of the Massachusetts Bay colony (John Winthrop).

On the other hand, the Puritanism who practices and beliefs of a Puritan or a puritan, they want to purify the Church of England of its Catholic aspects and they were dream to create a society which as Christendom. They goal was to make everything connected to God and absolute purity to live without sin in the sinful world. Every act and thought was either to praise and admire of god or the opposite. They were more mindful of God all the time than themselves. The entire community living as God had directed people to live, with perfect pure society where nobody sinned and God ruled everything where based in New England. In the basic way, the church was ruled the colony, and only puritans could be in the church. The puritans created many laws to keep the non puritans living in the puritan way. As they had job to some puritans who went to check on everything that happened in all the families daily because they want everyone to follow them. Also, they had created penalties for people who break the laws such as ranged from whipping and being thrown in the stocks for minor offenses, to banishment
