Also showing Intels Corporations departure from the Dynamic Random Access (DRAM), which was its main business core. This showed to be a very risky, but very beneficial for saving some of its other important competencies, such as an aggressively growing microprocessor business. Another important topic is the Process Model of the SBE. The process identifies the patterns of upper management, and the choices which help explain how they came to determine what might be necessary for future growth, and success.

The Process Model of an SBE for the US, EU, and China is designed to facilitate the consolidation of business within a particular business group, and to ensure that they have an effective and reliable management structure.

A Process Model of the US and EU on the SBE should enable them to effectively achieve the objectives of the process within a given business group.

In this role, the processes developed by SBEs, as well as the decisions made by the process managers on certain of those processes, help to achieve the objective of achieving a successful outcome for the organization, particularly the overall organization structure.

SBEs can achieve both to make better decisions and also to achieve the benefits of working with high level stakeholders in order to have a strong, coordinated, and effective management team.

A Process Model should be developed with a focus on the SBE in mind – for the business transformation of the organization, the SBE can help to establish strong organizational and operational structure that will be used both through, and with, high levels of strategic involvement, and a strong leadership role in the organization. The process can also develop processes that are structured around the goals of the SBE and the development of a successful process through process collaboration.

The process should ideally enable these companies to create an efficient, coordinated, and efficient process management process that will help to establish an integrated, and effective process management team, and ensure that high level strategic involvement and performance are taken into consideration in the organization.

A Process Model of the US should enable them to effectively achieve the objectives of the SBE.

The process should ideally lead the process team to develop the objectives of the process within the current SBE (as discussed in this segment).

The process should allow the organization to develop processes that are integrated, and that can be used to accomplish these objectives without introducing new processes that are highly costly and time consuming compared to the new or more streamlined processes that are required on a competitive level. For example, a process that has proven to be effective, effective, and efficient with an integrated, highly integrated, cost effective approach should not require costly and time consuming systems. However, the process should have an attractive cost-effectiveness ratio. The process team should be designed to do all the necessary changes to the SBE to achieve these goals. It should also have a strong organizational environment in order to ensure that the process teams can do all the necessary work. This model should be a success, because its success is achieved when the entire SBE and process teams develop the SBE in a coordinated, successful, and efficiently, and make the overall SBE (as discussed in this segment) more efficient and useful.

Part #2: Identify the Terminal Course Objectives (TCOs) that are applicable to this case and discuss the reasons that support your position. In context to Intel, and their decisions to exit the DRAM business, they were able to recognize that their core competency was getting strong competition from Japanese manufactures. They had to make choices quickly to reorganize and restructure technological competencies. These choices were critical connections with its corporate, technology, marketing and manufacturing strategies. Upper management was able to recognize that the industry was making changes, and Intel was able to adjust its competencies accordingly. The organizations managers were able to identify that the technological competencies were not being considered yesterdays news, rather that the product market was changing. The development of new competencies, and synergies with microprocessors, has established a new foundation for todays Intel.

The strategy here was not staying in a risky core product race, with profits dropping rapidly. They had to recognize that products like EPROMs and SRAM together were becoming cutting edge technology, and a foundation of Intels Core products. Logic products built on microprocessor technology have replaced memory products as Intels core business. Also “internal selection environments”
