Racism is a belief that inherent differences among various human races, usually among involving the idea that ones own race is superior. It is hatred of another race thus it is discrimination.(ask.com). The essay, poem, and short story we chose on discrimination
although written along time ago proves to us the same things are going on now, it is just not as blatant now as it was then. Langston Hughes, the author of the poem Share-Croppers wrote how racism and discrimination affected him and the society which he grew up in. When the cotton is picked and the work is done, boss man takes the money and we get none (Hughes, pg. 222). Although the were both white, the rich one felt more superior therefore choosing to give her another name. Without giving her a chance because of her status she just poured out all that hatred. That very thing happens today in the workplace and even though it happens differently it happens and not only between white people. There are people who go through life with blinders
