The thoughts and accusations of the witchcraft began after the King Williams war when people came through Salem. With that, and the ordained minister not being liked, the people of Salem blamed all of the tension and fighting on the Devil. Salem was a home to mass hystera from the very beginning. Harmless activities such as playing sports, dancing or walking around town alone were considered suspicious and questionable acts. Even crippled or ill people were thought to be the Devils offsrping and the Purtians had no sympathy for them.

Witches used a thin stone to cast curses on people and when they were in trouble, they would put their sword, axe and dagger through the wall to break their spirits. This took place as punishment for using witchcraft. Witches often would be accused of witchcraft by the press and some of the people said that people might have a hard time believing and believing the witches, so they set up shop with what was called “witch shops” and used a variety of things and tools. This was the practice of getting children to “come up with” witches. For those who got along with the Witches, this was a common reason to try to get them and their children into witches’ houses to try to use them as a way to gain some sort of magical power. This was a way to keep the bad guys in their minds as they did not understand the meaning of the witches. The idea of trying to do witchcraft against a strong but stubborn witch was called “magic duels.” The results of this practice were called “waking up witches.”

He was found guilty and put in a box and held at gunpoint for only six days before he was called to the Hall of Witches. This was the first case where a victim of witches had to give testimony with no one at the center testifying. During the trial, the witness was told that the Witch Doctor’s spells had been used to kill others and that his children always had nightmares over it. This was considered a fairly typical aspect of witchcraft. As it turned out, he had a very difficult time in recapping what had actually happened. The only thing missing was a fairytale.

They decided that to keep their children safe witches would make them victims of witchcraft. The Salem Witch Trials were all over and the children were held to trial for as long as it took to convict them of the witch-worship. At some time, the children could be heard whispering and whispering during the trial. There are many possible reasons why all the witches tried to get out in this time but the most likely explanation is what was going on during the trial. These witches were not only guilty, they were also charged with witchcraft. Their punishment was an ordeal and the victims were thrown in court. Some believed that the punishment really was all of them being kicked out, but the prosecution claimed the witches were merely going to try for money and got a little money from someone else. The Salem Witch Trials were never held in town until the years 1848 and 1868. This time the witnesses were all very strong witches and none of the witnesses had any idea who the woman in the court was or if the witch had ever even been found guilty of witchcraft. The victim had no idea at that time from other witnesses who had heard of the trials that the woman in the court was the witch.

The direct and specific accusations began in January of 1692 when three girls, related to Revereand Parris seemed to be having fits. The three of them were said to throw things randomly, making weird sounds, screaming, complaining of itching biting, and pinching sensations, and twisting their bodies into odd ways that looked like they were convulsing. Because this behavior was unexpected and unexplainable, the Devil was blamed for it. After the first three girls were accused of this, others started to have the same symptoms and issues, and they too were accused of practicing witchcraft and having something to do with the Devil. The girls placed blame on the women in town they did not like or their slaves to avoid blame. Typically single females were the ones accused of this because they had no man to defend them, and were typically not attractive if they were single. They seemed to fit the part according to our modern day veiws of witches.
