It now has over 1,500 restaurants worldwide with over 100,000 employees and system-wide sales exceeding $4 billion annually. Brinker International was listed among the top 400 companies by Forbes magazine. Based in Dallas, Texas, it is the largest employer based company in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.
The mainstay of the company is Chilis, a chain of more than 1,000 eateries featuring Southwest decor and inexpensive meals. In 1984, Chilis 23 restaurants were generating $40 million in sales from their menu of gourmet burgers, french fries, and margaritas. Brinker wanted to improve the amount of sales. Thus he started conducted market surveys and talking to his customers about their level of satisfaction at Chilli’s. On the basis of this feedback, he began to shift the focus of Chilis menu away from burgers to include a broader array of salads and chicken and fish entrees. By the late 1980s, the company was ready to branch out into new restaurants and began to consider several different acquisitions. In December 1990, the company purchased a franchisee company headed by Igor Grigorov. Grigorov was one of the most successful owners in Russia.
Since the purchase, he has developed the brand that has been well received globally and in the United States and Europe. This has also led to a string of successful brands and a range of successful, innovative new businesses that have opened and closed in Russia and China.
In 2007, the company purchased a joint venture held with Sberbank, a major Russian bank, for a market capitalization of $1 billion. In 2010, he established a separate company that includes a subsidiary operating the local market center (MEMN).
Located in a very narrow alley behind some old Soviet apartments, Sberbank has been building the largest market restaurant and in July 2015 launched a restaurant, which will feature a small kitchen located in the basement of this building. It will be operated by the newly-created Grigorov Holding company that has also opened in Russia that serves traditional Bulgarian ethnic foods and seafood.

At first, we were quite skeptical of this restaurant’s appeal, but the food pantries inside the building are not only good and affordable, but full of delicious food, so we started selling them. So after receiving a positive rating and a request for expansion, we opened Dovlaktia in May 2017.
