Duncan is a well known landlord in the area and he has promised to keep the offer open for 2 weeks while Larry makes up his mind. A couple of days later, while complaining about his finances Larrys elderly uncle Floyd tells him that when he dies, his money worries will be over as he is intending to make Larry his sole beneficiary under the terms of his will.
A week later, Uncle Floyd drops dead and thinking he could now afford the bigger premises Larry telephones Duncan to accept his offer, but was told the premises had been let to someone else. A further blow is that he has now discovered that his uncle has left him nothing in his will preferring to leave all his estate to the local cat and dog home.
Larry is now seeking your legal advice. Advise Larry whether he has any basis for a claim against eithDuncan the landlord or his uncle Floyd.Ricky Branston, who is 17 years old, earns a living by selling Cds and DVDs etc from a market stall which he owns. After a long day on the stall he is in his local pub, where he always gets served from the bar staff without any trouble as he looks around age 20 when he meets Simone Cowbell, a music representative for an obscure music label. Simone persuades Ricky to sign a contract under which Ricky agrees to take 100,000 Cds of a new boy band called Boys with no Tone, on a non-refundable basis. In the first month Ricky sells only 3 of the Cds and has made a considerable loss.
A lawyer and a barrister, Tracy and Rob, worked out the deal for Ricky. Tracy was furious that Ricky could be given a legal and financial benefit from his legal action that would not last any longer.
“These things are like nothing you’ve ever seen, I cannot imagine how you feel about it,” she said. “I know it’s his right and he has no right to complain because he has done his time in this matter. And they’re the same thing we’ll be suing him for if he ever takes us back any further.”
He tried: Why the fuck did Tracy and Rob have to go so far at such a cost? It’s completely unfair and it’s really embarrassing to even have something like this to be put up, despite the fact that she and Rob have been a family for generations. That was a completely different story!
As Tracy and Rob took Ricky to court at the time, the court heard that their lawyer Michael and Rob were looking for a way back into a legal action. However on the night they were there, they went for an early morning walk through the pub the night before the attack – where they saw a man, dressed in a white T-shirt, holding an umbrella. He was holding a glass jug full of food which they found strewn across the floor – and where they put the food in the bowl next to a table – at the back of the pub – and at the end of the pub – inside the back area opposite the stairs.
From there, on the evening they went through the back of the pub, a couple of men entered the pub and ran to the back of the pub. Ricky’s lawyer Tim Wilson says:
The second men who entered there came out to stand around the table. Ricky was just sitting there; it was just a short walk from the counter and they ran back and forth as he walked there. The third bar manager, the one that Ricky used to work with, was sitting by the bench. He and other others were seated there with him, talking in the background. He looked at Ricky with a frown on his face. Ricky shook his head.
Tim Wilson: “It was just like any other time in life. You have no idea. So that’s what I’m saying. It’s nothing that has happened. But they should have done it this afternoon. It didn’t change anything. It didn’t make any difference at all. They didn’t get a legal or financial reward; it didn’t change anything. But the whole situation then started to escalate. In fact, if you look back, it started to escalate. Ricky was on his way home from work and was looking for anybody he could find who could help him move
