When it comes to moral development everybody at some point was taught by their parents or guardians on what is considered right and what is considered wrong. I myself was taught mainly by my parents. They always went by the golden rule to treat others as I would like to be treated and that if its a law dont break it because you will have to be accountable for your actions and the punishment is never worth the reward. My dad used to always tell me that no matter what anybody did or say that there is some good in everybody and that you need to look for it as others will overlook it and only see the bad side of things. My mother used to always preach the golden rule by saying that if I didnt respect my self or others that my life would be a lonely depressing life. I always followed both sets and types of rules and they have helped me in a straightened arrow path. I have had my ups and downs but at the same time whenever I would start to veer off one of my parents would always be there to straighten me back out.
Looking through all of the offenses that a person can be charged with, it comes to my attention that they are many lawful orders that can and should be disagreed with. In my opinion its similar in the military. If you are given a lawful order to follow by someone of higher ranking you must follow it. I believe just going ahead and following it works in some situations, but if you believe that it is an unlawful order or the order is somewhat unethical then it should be brought to the attention of the authoritative person or any other higher up member of the chain of command. When it comes to the civilian side of things, I still believe that they should be brought to a higher authority and proven that they may not be as lawful as initially thought. Also some lawful orders were created so long ago that in todays day and age they have no bearing and dont belong in our justice system. If you just continue to let things go and you do not do anything about them, then not only yourself but many others will face the harsh and unnecessary punishments due to some unethical laws.
