Apply several of the leadership models to the case, such as Fiedler’s contingency model and the Hersey-Blanchard situational model.Leadership styles of Fred Hammond and May Allison is Autocratic leadership. Autocratic leadership is the most classical approach when it comes to leadership styles. A manager in a business or company that uses this management style wants to have all power over decisions and as much influence as possible. They don’t ask any other employees for their opinions or ideas and they expect the human resources to follow set rules and instructions with no questions asked. Autocratic leaders believe that their employee’s motivation is a subject of a strict reward and punishment structure. An example of a famous autocratic leader is Hitler because he is well known for not taking into consideration other peoples wishes or opinions. There are some advantages of this leadership style, such as decisions being made very quickly which allows all employees to adapt faster than if the decisions took time to happen. Another advantage of this leadership style is that because it is an organized leadership method, it is easier to fulfill goals. In this leadership style there is very little confusion of who is the manager if an employee needed to talk to them.People who are for this style say that this method of leadership allows employees to work to the best of their ability without high levels of stress but this could easily be argued against because the manager may make other employees feel fearful and may affect their self-confidence, which would affect their work and performance.
