Copying and pasting words, borrowing, and rephrasing is also plagiarism. “Plagiarism is defined as the use of another person’s thoughts, ideas, words, quotations, or phrases without showing proper acknowledgment of where the information came from” (“GCU Plagiarism Tutorial,” 2013). In the academic world, students are overwhelmed with the classes, homework, assignments, and exams. Juggling classes and then trying to have an everyday life creates an intricate state of mind for students. When there is chaos and no proper introductory class for plagiarism, some students will lean towards plagiarism. Not because it was easy, but because there was no proper guidance about plagiarism and overwhelmed with the clash of all their classes, assignments, and college lifestyle. Knowing what plagiarism is and how not to commit it is the first step I had to learn on my own. I have taken a class on writing skills and learned about plagiarism in that class. I use the library, online guides, and Grammarly. If I have any questions, I will ask for help. Asking for help seems hard, but I will just ask.The learning objectives that have been most relevant to me are the types of plagiarism. I would not want to commit plagiarism. Researching the classes and places to go for help and not being afraid to ask for academic direction is a good decision. Like having a study group and/or someone to talk to when going through a predicament in life, communication is the key to stay focused academically, physically, and mentally. Just going to the library, counselor, and even fellow students will help with keeping me focused academically.ReferencesAcademic scenarios. (2013). Grand Canyon University. Retrieved from
