Leed Certified Case
Americans are starting to care more about the environment and more specifically how the way we build things affects our world. Constructing LEED Certified Green Buildings can be good for the environment and for business. Many people think that building sustainable projects costs more money and therefore hurts business, but I will explain a few reasons why this is not true.
One of the first ways we can save money by constructing high performance buildings is because of the ways we can take advantage of green water systems. Not only would the water bills be less, but we can also recycle the water for uses like watering the lawns. The many ways we could make the water system more efficient will benefit the business in the long run because it will cost less and people will be happy with their buildings contribution to conserving the environment.
Another way that high performance buildings make good business sense is that they can reduce operating costs for the building. A few specific costs that LEED Certified Buildings reduce include heating, electric, and roof maintenance. Natural light and good insulation are two important aspects of green buildings that will reduce the costs and make the business of constructing these buildings more profitable. There are many small things that developers can include in this buildings as well like appliances that use very little electricity. Reduced operating costs are a huge bonus that comes with constructing high performance buildings.
Finally, a third way why constructing Green Buildings makes good sense for business is because the LEED certified buildings can be rented out at higher rates than regular complexes. Also, these LEED buildings have an 3.89% higher occupancy rate than regular buildings which means that this will also greatly benefit the business. As we continue to move more towards becoming more environmentally friendly in the future, more and more people will look to rent at places
