Lgbt Rhetorical Analysis
Introduction: In the past few years the topic on LGBT rights has been brought up and discussed by many people around the United States. Students and teachers at schools all around have been facing issues of discrimination and unfair treatment. Some people still haven’t come to understand the challenges and struggles others go through due to pressure and stress put on them by society. The people being discriminated are also beginning to come out and stand up for the violation of their rights. Thesis: Human Rights violations and discriminations are occurring vastly in schools all around the United States involving LGBT teens and adults, which have caused these students and teachers to reach out to the public and are asking themselves how and why their rights are being violated. Topic Sentence 1: Religious Catholic schools all around the United States are firing and violating state laws by firing or discriminating teachers. The catholic school system has a Christian witness Statement which states that all educators that sign should “not take a public position contrary to the catholic church. (faithstreet.com) Schools are saying that by being gay “teachers are going against the church.” Same sex union opposes Roman Catholic teaching as it cannot realize the full potential a marital relationship is meant to express. ( faithstreet.com) Al Fischer (teacher being fired) speaks out and explains how the archdiocese is tricking him in a way. Topic Sentence 2: Teachers are also fired from their jobs after getting married, even though same sex marriage is legal in the states they reside in A vice principal was fired in the state of Washington for marrying his partner even though same sex marriage had become legal 7 months before. He wasn’t doing anything illegal but what was fired regardless
