Dear Dr. Bower,
Hello, my names is Megan and I am eighteen years old. This is my first year attending Eastern Illinois University, but I previously attended Joliet Junior College. Although I do not participate in any of our school’s sports, I love to watch them. If I have any free time from homework and class, that’s normally what I do. I plan to become certified as a 6-12th grade English teacher. In addition to that, I am going to do dual certification so that I can teach special education also. I hope to be a high school special education English teacher. Through many life experiences such as babysitting and training new employees, I have decided that teaching is an occupation that will suit me well
One of the five dispositions which I feel is already a big part of my life would be Effective Communication. I can easily identify that I already possess this trait because of experiences throughout my life. For a while now, I have been that friend that everyone turns to when they need someone to give them advice or even just listen to what they have to say. As far as I know, I have never let anyone down. This will definitely help me in the classroom because as  a teacher, it is extremely important to be able to listen to your students when they have problems or concerns. A good teacher must be approachable and make students comfortable with talking to them.
