Introduction
There are many different kinds of animals created, some man-made some just common nature. These are called hybrids. Many includes the zee-donk, a cross breed between a zebra and a donkey, cama, a male camel and a female llama, a liger, a cross breed between male lion with a female tiger, and a tiglon, which is a cross breed between a male tiger with a female lion. Ligers, worlds largest cat, and Tiglons are a product of man-made intervention and not nature. Ligers have been intentionally bred for the past 300 years. Historical evidence has stated that in 1799, the first ever liger cub was born in the world. The first country to have liger cubs based on a painting by Etienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire was India. Having it suggest that the cubs were born before the painting came to view. Lions and tigers were also mated later in different countries like Germany, France and England in the 20th century. In the United States the first liger cub was born in 1948. From then on ligers were born around the world. For example, in Russia the first liger was born in 2004, in South Korea the first liger was born in 1997, and in Taiwan the first liger cub was born in 2010.
Liger
A liger habitat is that of a sanctuary or a zoo. Lions and tigers never cross path it is highly unlikely that they would mate on their own. Ligers cannot go into the wild, and it is highly speculated that they would not survive in the wild. In a zoo they are constantly under surveillance to see for any issues that they may incur. Though there arent any real consistent proofs that hybrid cats are more vulnerable to diseases they are under constant watch just to be sure. Its been said that before Ligers were bred by humans they were constant in the Gir Forest and in Asia. Though there isnt any proof to that besides a fossil of cat that was found. In a single sitting a liger can eat up to 100 pounds of meat. The keepers and handlers do not want to make the ligers overweight so they have a controlled diet, where they usually they give the ligers about twenty to thirty pounds of meat in one day and nothing more than that. It shows that ligers consume large quantity of meat than any other feline on the planet.
Ligers have some characteristics from both parents. Some can have speed up to 60 miles an hour; though most records show that the average speed is about 50 miles an hour. They get the speed from their father lion. A lion is capable of running up to 40 miles an hour. It is said that a liger is second fastest cat in the world next to the cheetah. Another characteristic they get from their father are the male when fully grown have a mane. The lions male have a longer than the liger but still the male ligers has manes that shaggier and shorter than the average lion. Ligers also have a hint of light striping on their backs and faces. In terms of behavior ligers possess a blend of both the lions and tigers. Ligers are highly socialized. This trait comes from the lions. They also love to swim, this trait comes from tigers. If a liger can live out to old age they still have very mild behavioral personality. Ligers roar like lions and purr like a tiger. A liger can weigh anywhere from 500 pounds to 1750 pounds and grow up to 13 feet or taller.
It is said that the ligers has constant health problems when it becomes older or when they are born. One of the most common illnesses that people believe ligers have is Pyometra. Pyometra is a uterus disease that can often lead to life threatening issues or death. Another disease that is commonly said to happen is kidney failure. Though the only two cases that they have found where a liger has died from kidney failure are one of a liger that was already 24 years old and one of a liger that has died at
