One of the similarities between Naturalism and Realism was that they didnt mention God a lot in the story. People at this time viewed God as useless and just an idealistic symbol that would never rescue them from the concrete society that they were facing. In the story “To build the fire,” God never and Napoleonic War. People suffered from their misfortune and got depressed from the situation on which nothing had left but misery after the war. Likewise, in America, Realism and Naturalism came out in response to the miserable war, the Civil War. People lost their houses, families, properties and other things that they used to have. They realized the Romanticism on which emphasized imagination never worked to their wretched life and God would never salvage them from the misfortunate life. In America, and especially in the early 1800s, we had an American Renaissance that didn’t only focus on aesthetics. We got to the point where people had no idea what a real life person actually is ”The American Renaissance came about in response to all of these other influences, so they changed this. The two original Realists started doing their own kind of worldbuilding and reading. We met our American Renaissance and realized we already had a real life, real people in us which we could call our new type. Realists started reading the French, German, Japanese, Chinese books and they started noticing that all these people in a way were different. They noticed many of our own characteristics in the same person ”To begin with, people in this part of us were both good at writing &%#8221;to be creative &„.
