You are driving down the street to the 7-eleven that is a couple of blocks away from your house. Its a beautiful day with the perfect weather; you could have gone walking to enjoy the world around you but Jersey Shore is about to start and you need to buy a Rockstar to make it through the night. You dont want to miss a minute of your favorite show so you dont even think twice of taking your Corvette to go to the store because you are too lazy to walk. You dont care that is sunny outside and you could care less about the birds chirping or feeling the wind on your face. All you care is that you get to watch the season finale of Jersey shore and nature can just disappear for all you care. Its hard for you to remember the last time you spend time outside admiring the beauty of nature since you are too busy playing Black Ops or updating your status on Facebook.
Defining nature comes only from a personal experience, a description of the emotional effect you feel. Nature is the world of living things and outdoors that is untouched and uninfluenced by civilization. Television is a very important medium in delivering information about nature to the public. The media itself has little to do with nature, even though shows of nature on television take us to exotic areas, it cannot comprehend nature in its true form. As a society we have come to rely on the media as a way of comprehending nature and technology has alienated ourselves from which ultimately has affected both nature and mankind.
Furthermore when we are little kids we create a different world when we are in nature, a world full of adventures but as we get older we appreciate nature less. We come in contact with plants and animals more often because we think of them as our friends but when we are adults all we care about is how the weather is going to be, and that is our contact with nature. Going camping for the first time as a kid was truly a unique experience which brought me closer to nature.
The day begins bright and early. The sounds of the birds chirping, mixing with the warm glow of the sun shining through my tent, act as my alarm clock for the day. As I exit the tent, I inhale a deep breath of the crisp mountain air. It feels cool and fresh in my lungs. The campground is packed full of random campers from all across California and Nevada. This is defiantly the busiest time of the year for Lake Tahoe. You stroll through the winding dirt trails towards the steady flowing water while the birds proudly recite their early morning songs. Reaching the free flowing stream you bend down and see your clear reflection in front of the blue. Goosebumps rise along your arms as the streams icy depths run through your fingers. The sun is comfortably placed in front of the cotton candy clouds, in the midst of the soft blue sky. The rough dirt trail ends and you are brought to the base of a rock.
