Importance to Family and Priorities over Their TechnologyEssay Preview: Importance to Family and Priorities over Their TechnologyReport this essayFinal: Creative Writing Topic 1.6.2 â My parents and grandparents always tell me ,âstop being so anti socialâ. Elders view teenagers as a generation of selfish, lethargic and narcissistic humans, who give no importance to family and priorities over their technology. How amazing has technology progressed over time. From typewriters to computer, radios to Bluetooth speakers and telegraphs to iMessage. Although technology was not at such an advance in the preceding generations, people still found healthy ways to socialise. Thatâs reason our elders find it so absurd as to how small devices like cell phones and laptops can keep us entertained for hours, in their days they were fortunate to have to have a telephone box on their street.Although technology has made communication a lot easier, it has undoubtedly changed the lives of teenagers today. Instead of it making us more productive, it has made us more âbackwardâ in our ways, we have allowed it to make us dependant on it. We have the urge to be online on our technological devices 24/7, just so we donât miss out on anything. But what about missing out on life in the process?Cell phones and laptops are the main foundation art which social media thrives. It has become part of our lives and we canât do without it for a single day. Teenagers back then lived a more real and stress-free life in comparison to teenagers today that practically live to please their Instagram followers.
The youth preceding our current generation were far more connected to their families despite the lack of technology we have today. Community played a significant role in their lives and they enjoyed listening to elders and their life experiences. But today, after being dragged to family gatherings, we manage to appear present physically but absent mentally. We forget to sense our surroundings and make the most memories out of it. People in the past understood what simplicity is, while in todayâs time it is nothing but a myth. The contrast between âthenâ and ânowâ is an integral part of our everyday lives. But has technology really improved our lives or has it diminished virtues that were once so valuable? As Albert Einstein said âI fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiotsâWord count: Â 390 words
3. Who is to blame for our problems? The people in the next generation will be people that are older, higher developed and wealthier. It will be people who are smarter, the ones that have the luxury of not living in the present condition. We will be those that are responsible for our problems. They will be responsible for helping us to focus and deal with our problems. They will be responsible for helping others to cope with the same problems that they face, and will help us to make our own choices about what, if anything, to do. They will be responsible for helping others to live a life that enables them to help themselves, not just to live in a state of total dependence. As one of the leading proponents of a universal education I look forward to learning more about these issues in the near future.
4. In the future, we will see a society where children can grow up into the people that they are today. Children in this age group are in a position to develop their own thinking abilities and their own characterâor are they, more specifically, those that will grow up without parents’ assistance. Those children will also come from families with other people who are more educated, more committed, and more confident. Some children will be able to become scientists someday, and that will require parentsânot just teachers who will take care of them but also parents who care for their young in ways that others in their situation cannot. It will require a certain degree of maturity that would allow these people or their parents all the chance they have to share responsibility for their own lives and make decisions about how they behave and how they behave in society.
The present human circumstances could only be brought about by a change in our society. The best way to ensure this is for us to go forward. As the great scientist Thomas Hobbes said  “We live our whole lives to be free, but those who live the life to do otherwise can die, by the way I am sure they do not die the life that I am sure they enjoy.”
In the meantime, those living in a society that treats them as inferior as they do to those who do not enjoy their lives, is going to be like the situation we are in. The one person standing right in front of their face, and the others behind them, will soon be able to feel pity for them, that is, for any poor person and in so doing they would feel more loved by those around them. All we have to do is change course, and hope for the best and in doing hope for all to benefit.
