Identity Crisis
Most people, unless they choose to be an outsider, or know that to be different is okay, want to be considered or labeled as a “cool” person. Whether its to fit in with a peer group, a clique, or to impress someone in particular, like a member of the opposite sex, or a potential mate, some people have trouble finding their selves within themselves. Every person comes to a point in their life when they begin to search for themselves and their identity. It usually is a long process and takes a long time with many wrong turns along the way, but who are we to judge.
Identity is a state of mind in which someone recognizes or identifies their character traits that leads to finding out who they are and what they do that is not of someone else. In other words, its basically who you are and what you define yourself as being when no one else s around to steer our mind. The theme of identity is often expressed in books or novels or basically any other piece of literature so that the reader can intrigue themselves and relate to the characters and their emotions. People can try to modify their identity as much as they want but that can never really change who they really are and were meant to be. The theme of identity can be a very strong topic to understand but yet very interesting if understood. When we as people are born, we are catered to for a couple of years, but once we start on our first journey or venture away into the world, there are some changes that may and most likely occur in our lives. For the most part the changes are small, because we still have the nature not to care or understand the epic tradition or style around us. Eventually, period in life known as adolescence sets in and weighs heavily on the mind of us as human beings. The most important thing as a mind set in life is to be liked by others. The easiest way to be liked by others, so we as humans think, is to do what others do and be of the worldly habits. Life is not always about what and or how you look on the outside but the inside is what really matters. Although it really should not be of a persons character to judge one another, people judge each other every day, but who are we to judge for God is the only one with the power or even the will to be able to justify anyones life.
We create expectations for ourselves by looking at famous people or perhaps even some of our own peers. Some want to be thinner, some bigger. We buy overpriced clothes, and some even acquire the same interests as others, but to what extent? The insecure part of life caused during this time in a persons life sometimes causes them to be less sure of themselves than ever before. God set us as people to whom we really are before we were even created in the physical human being image. No matter how much changed is tried, you are you no matter what. “Why be something youre not,
