Priciples Behind Completing a Pdp
PRINCIPLES BEHIND COMPLETING A PDP
When you know where you are and where you want to go all you need is a map to show you the direction.
Planning for the future starts from where I am and I look to the horizon to set a point where I am going. Once arrived, I set a new target for where Im headed.
To do that, I have to write my goals in order of priority and action.
I have to ask myself constantly: What is the most important goal, which is the best action I can take right now?
When we are planning our future, each of us has a different implementation horizon. So much different, that for some might be days, while others might be months, years.
It is important when deciding to make a PDP, to determine what it means for me – personally, short, medium and long-term. Setting goals will maximize confidence that I can succeed and will enhance learning to choose the best way every time.
The purpose of a PDP is to define my personal goals, short-term and long-term; to decide what to do to achieve these goals; to identify, analyze and understand my personal strengths and weaknesses; reflect on and take an active part in planning and developing personal skills and to make me more effective in my task.
Also, with each successful experience, it will add a brick in the habit of acting proactively to know what I want out of life and to identify and use the opportunities when they arise.
