It started some months ago. Jonathan who is my brother, he became a member of a group of bad company. They call themselves The Purge. Their mission is to “clean” the school. Everybody is afraid of them, including me. They are very condescending to everybody who is against them. The game rules are to observe with the group’s word. If you break the rules then they will be against you. Forever.
Back to my brother. After he became a member of The Purge he had been very absent. My parents couldn’t handle him anymore. I was so afraid of losing him. Of course we had our disagreements but he was my brother. I loved him. So I made the decision to help him.
I tried to talk to him, but he wouldn’t even look at me. I went out of his room frustrated. I cried. I cried for a long time. If I couldn’t find a way to make him talk to me then he would leave me. Either he’d keep out of trouble or he would be sent to a boarding school. I had to help him, but how? I asked myself all week how could I help him? I stayed up all night to devise a plan. I got some ideas but only one was on my mind. If I chose that plan then I would be in trouble. Big trouble.
The next day in school I saw The Purge including Jonathan. I went over to him. I had to do this or he would be taken away from me. It was not a choice. Before I reached him they all went to class. I was alone. Again.
Later I went out of the school and saw The Purge. I ran over to them. This was my only chance to get Jonathan away from them.
“Hey Jonathan!”, I yelled. They all turned their heads. It was me. Just little Jamie. They just laughed. I stopped and could feel the tears. I was confused. He just stood there and looked at me. Tears streamed down my face. I began to run. While I was running I heard Jonathans voice. He yelled something but I couldn’t hear him.
He reached me. He was very breathless and so was I. No one said a word. We only looked at each other.
“Thanks for getting me away from them. You saved me Jamie”, He said.
After some time he started crying. I felt
