A busy, crowded Airport, a twelve hour plane ride, the distant sound of crying babies, This would not appeal to the average teenager except me, I was going to London England for Christmas.
After landing, we drop our stuff off and went right into town to the winter festival. It was 30o F at 4:00 PM and the sun was long gone. We picked up dinner at a food stand, steak in a hot dog bun, yummy. Later got tickets and I got to go and fun house. It was really exciting and I never want to leave. There were so many food stands, rides and people. After grabbing a Nutella crêpe, we headed in for the night.
Bright and early a few mornings later, we all took the Tube to go to the London Eye. It is a huge fharris wheel, each compartment can fit 20 people. My stomach was churning and I was nervous as I entered what looked like a death trap. It slowly started to move, I scrambled to the center as I nervously peered out of the ginormus glass windows. After what seemed like a lot of time we got to the top, hundreds of feet in the air. I was mesmerized by the view and my stomach come back to me so I ventured closer to the towering glass wall. I was awestruck by the beauty and realized I never wanted to come down. But sadly, the time came to leave and I enjoyed every minute of it.
The day after Christmas we had plans to go to Wicked the play. After we got our tickets we walked in. I have never seen so many seats before in one place. I noticed that we keep walking forward closer and closer to the stage. We finally stopped the only three rows from the towering stage. During the play I felt as though I was right in the story and when the curtains closed I was still in shock how close we were and how amazing the play was.
I am very thankful that I got to go on such an amazing trip. I might have left London but the memories and family bonding will always be with me.
