Love can be such a beautiful thing. It can also be very complicated. There are lots of different types of love, including platonic, spiritual, materialistic, unrequited, mutual, family, and physical love. If used properly, love can enhance your life so much, but it not- it can make your life extremely difficult.
First, lets discuss the main type of love, the type that most people think of when they hear the word “love”. Mutual love is between two people in a relationship who care a lot for each other. Along with this can come physical and intimate love. They dont always go together though, but most often they do. One can have an emotional love with another, without feeling physically in love with them, but I think only being “physically in love” with someone is impossible. You cant really be in love with some ones looks, or sexual contact, if you are not in a relationship.
Another common type of love is where you love something or someone in a non-physical, friendly way. This can be called platonic love, spiritual love, materialistic love and family love. Platonic love is a special bond between friends. Spiritual love is the relationship between someone and their religion, or religious leader, like God. The easiest type of love is probably the relationship with your family. From birth, you love you parents no matter what. As you get older though, your love for them might change.
Unfortunately, love isnt always a great thing. It can be painful and frustrating when it is not working out. An example of this is unrequited love. This is when a person loves someone without having them love them back. Imagine how hurtful that can be. Another example of this is having to let go of someone that you love, whether is be because of a death or because they are moving far away, not having that special someone in your life anymore can be extremely depressing.
