Money is and has long been a critical factor in deciding whether one achieves success or failure. The love of money manifests a greed within people that constantly shapes our world. The Apostle Paul notes in the first book of Timothy, “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil;” likewise, he explains that the greedy and the desperate, “have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” He explains that money itself is not necessarily “good” or “evil” but the love for money is. Loving money creates greed and selfishness; consequently, one blinds himself from what is truly important in the world.Growing up in this day and age has certainly been a burden, but also beneficial. It has helped me realize what truly matters in everyday life and has given me the right tools and positive attitude to be successful in the real world. I was forced to become independent at a young age simply because my parents werent able to buy me the things that I wanted. They found ways to provide me with the essentials, like clothes, food and transportation, but I always expect the “best” of myself. This desire for something greater than the “affordable” was the driving factor in my decision to work.
Everything that life demands depends on your attitude when approaching a job. It is important to prioritize your life and allow those priorities to be the driving force to earn money. Money is not evil but evil is seen in money when it is earned for the wrong reasons and against what truly matters. What truly matters is dictated by your personal beliefs and priorities. After your “priorities are straight” and you have the right attitude, good fortune(not necessarily money) will prevail through hard work.
