Youth Violence
Youth Violence
Just a few years ago, news broke out about a young, introverted student who one day went to school with a firearm. She then entered classroom shooting all her classmates. Nowadays, it is very common to hear news about young people taking part in conducting violence. The three main causes of youth violence are ones growing environment, influence by media and feelings of social alienation.
Ones growing environment is the major cause of youth violence. With the child spending less time with their parents, they may not feel loved so they feel that they have to get into trouble to get attention. Besides, if someone grows up in an environment with many gangs around the neighborhood, the child will adapt the same tendency. The longer a child lives in this kind of environment, the more violent they may become.
Another cause of youth violence is influence by media. Youth are exposed to violence through video games, television show, movie and Internet. Moreover, there are thousands of websites where young people can freely watch video with violent content. People are increasingly becoming desensitized to violence on media.
