Any device that provides an input to the computer is an input. There are many different possibilities of what could be an input, but the main inputs are a keyboard and mouse. Every time we push something on the keyboard or move or click the mouse it sends a message to the computer. This message is the input.

Computers jobs are to first process inputs. What would we do with a computer if we could not tell it what to do? The main point of having a computer is to put in inputs. Without devices to tell a computer what to do, it would be pretty useless. It would be interesting if they created a computer that you could control with your mind.

Portable input devices in healthcare can vary. There are input devices that nurses use to collect data such as blood pressure , urine , and sugar levels. Sahara Slate and Medislate mobile clinical assistant are devices used to enter patients results. Instead of entering test results by writing it down, healthcare practitioners use these devices to enter stats.
