Abstract
This papers topic will be on male violence against women. There are thousands of women who are killed worldwide each year by men do to violence. Women all over the world have been going through this for many years. The violence committed against women is becoming worse every day. This is why women feel like nobody loves them anymore, because of how men make them feel about themselves. Male domestic violence is called intimate partner violence this occurs between people in an intimate relationship together. Domestic violence can take many forms, including emotional, sexual, and physical abuse,and threats of abuse. It might not be easy to identify domestic violence in a person at first but you can tell when they cover up.Men love to feel they have power so they call you names, and insult you and put you down in front of people. Women want help and sometimes don’t know where to start, and just don’t know how to ask for it. Researchers Angela Browne, (1993), state” this repetition and severity of aggression is facilitated by the fact that intimates are readily available, the amount of time at risk is high, and assaults can be carried out in private when the target is completely off guard. Estimates based on probability samples suggest that a minimum of from 2 to 3 million women are assaulted by male partners each year in the United States” (pg.1077).
The women in the past lived in a more fear then the women today. Women back then had to listen to what they man or husband said or they will pay for it. All over the world men feel they have to have power over women. This been going on for a long time with men hitting women. Women go through all type of fear and trauma in their life, with their partners like Hits,kicks, shoves, slaps, chokes and otherwise hurts you, your children and your family. Some women don’t recognized that men can actual use physical force on them and kill them.Domestic violence can include physical, emotional, psychological, economic, and or sexual abuse. Women boyfriends and husbands abusers use threats, intimidation, isolation, and other behaviors to gain and maintain power over their partners. Researches Lisa A. Goodman, Mary P. Koss, Louise f. Fitzgerald, Nancy Felipe Russo, Gwendolyn Puryear Kieta (1993), state” more than half of all women murdered in united states during the first half of the 1980s 52% were the victims of partner homicide. Between 14 and 25 of adult women have endured rape according to its legal definition, which includes acts involving nonconsensual sexual penetration obtained by physical force, by threat of bodily harm, or when the victim is incapable of giving consent by virtue of mental illness, mental retardation, or intoxication”(pg.1055).
Women fear of being rape everyday of their life. Men can sit around and plan on how he going to kill are rape a woman. When women go out to parties and drink a lot of alcohol and walk home at night, she becomes a victim of sexual assault. Most women are attack by stranger or someone they know.Sometime women stereotypes men when they look at them if they ask for help. That sometimes is the same men that can help you from getting rape or being a victim. Being a victim is not a good feeling within women respect and love for they partner. Men say all the time I’m the boss of the house a you do what I say or what. However men think that women should do what they say at all times. Men tries to control how women spendtheir money, where you go, what medicines you take or what you wear when you go out. When a women go out
