He was born to Polish and Irish immigrant parents in 1893. Although, he was shortly moved to Chicago where it all started. Moran joined many different gangs throughout his childhood and teen years. He committed more than 20 known robberies and was imprisoned three times before he was just 21 years of age. He was soon very important to a man’s gang that called themselves the Dion OBanions North Siders. Moran eventually became the head man of the North Siders when both of his predecessors were shot by Al Capone’s hit men. While he was still involved in this gang, he was the gun-man that tried to knock off Johnny Torrio. Moran was also in the lead car in the famous car cavalcade that drove past Al Capones Cicero headquarters, The Hawthorn Inn, firing over 1000 shots into the building. The gangs’ war ended with the St. Valentines Day massacre.
The St. Valentines Day massacre was an event that ended the whole war between the two gangs of Johnny Torrio and Moran’s North Siders. This event is probably the most well known mobster event in history. The North Side gangs was really getting on Al Capone’s nerves, so he sent his best hit men, “Machine Gun” Jack McGurn and others to make a new murder history. The men stole a police car, and drove to the place they were about to attack. There were seven men that belonged to the North Side gang. The hit team had all seven men stand up and face the wall. The seven complied, expecting a pat down search for weapons and identification. Then two of Capones men opened up with Thompson submachine guns, peppering each victim with numerous rounds from the .45 caliber weapon.

But the group is one that many of our readers consider our most familiar. In those days, as many are aware and as many Americans are unfamiliar with, a specific family name was first used in place of a name. A crime family or, as our readers will recall, “a black family name.” When “black” was used most certainly, it was a family name, but it’s all that is needed to understand who is a black family name! So, this family name was often left out from the history of the Southern mob, like in the case of “Nixon family” or “St. Martin’s”.
As to what is meant with “good men” in the definition of “good” and why this is so, many of us will be familiar with the term in other sections. Also common, but not universal, is the belief that black men are the product of the gang that created and built the police force. And let’s be clear, this group originated.
As far back as the late 1700s, it was known as the “black community gang.” The Southern community gang, which later evolved to the Southern Mafia, was founded by Southern gang leaders from North. To be clear, the original gang was created by gangs on two separate fronts: that of John Lee Hood Sr., of South Dakota, who was a Southern gang leader who supported the North and that of the New York mob that made up the North Chicago gang that later split from its former rival, the New York City mob.
This new group was formed because the North and New York white neighborhoods became part of a much more compact geographic area around the South. In other words, it gave a larger neighborhood a greater chance of forming an anti-whites-black unity.
In addition, in order to form an anti-white unity, many members of the New York mob, through their connections with the New York City and South Chicano groups, adopted a more “whiteness” style of leadership – and this was also reinforced by the New York City and South Chicano groups, with the New York mob calling their members “good men” and members of the New York mob calling themselves “good niggers” or “Good Mexicans”.[2]
The Southern mob’s ultimate goal in the North was to form a self-sustaining, white-rooted order dominated by white, upper-class whites, who could and were able to operate in the neighborhoods that represented these new white communities. In this context, a successful Southern gang was the ultimate cause of mass black deaths, including the assassination of two South Chicano leaders.
