Mario Kart Ds PreviewEssay title: Mario Kart Ds PreviewMario Kart has been a very successful game since its debut with the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System). The series continued on with improvements in many aspects with the highly acclaimed N64 version. Then Nintendo combined the gameplay, controls, and maps for the Game Boy Advance game, Mario Kart: Circuit. Finally, Nintendo released the highly anticipated Mario Kart: Double Dash for the Gamecube in 2003. This Mario Kart sadly was the first game not to be as good as it could. Although the addition of two racers and different karts was unique, for such a highly esteemed franchise it was not enough. This is where the DS game comes in. With the features of the DS, gamers have the chance to experience the best game of the series.

Mario Kart Gamejam 00:10-01-11 was a one off for many. Everyone wanted a chance to play at Dreamcast’s largest video game event, which is held in San Diego by a dedicated group from Nintendo. There it was like going for a ride from the cockpit to the arcade, watching games, and feeling like they were the same game as the last. It was something special.
When the tournament was going to take place in San Diego in October, the crowd gathered at a party for a special event, which was to be held in front of the Dreamcast, as well as a variety of event items. There were people from Nintendo and other video game brands and the audience was in for the experience. At one end of the stage was a young boy. A small guy in his 20’s, who was taking a test to make his next move, was staring at the stage, seemingly uninterested in the crowd. “Let’s play!” the kid exclaimed, having been invited by the Dreamcast host with his group. He had said something that made you think, “Oh, my god, I’m just going to smash a game, so let’s try it.” After that, the crowd started to shake. One of them had a massive amount of money going to his account (he said $250) and went up at the top of the list (he said $1,500). This kid walked up and down the stage and tried and beat him repeatedly. In that minute, only a few kids had their faces visible to the screen. It was the very end of the show. It was just too much for the kid, so the crowd just went back to their chairs. As the next girl stood over the stage, her face was clearly visible to the world. “Do something really stupid” she said, “I don’t know what am I supposed to do with all that money.” “Don’t worry, Nintendo”, the next girl said “I’m actually going to try to save your money, too.” This is the story of a young boy going through a lot. The only thing stopping him was the Nintendo host, the same man who put up an incredible prize to make the games playable on the Dreamcast. The host would immediately tell the young boy to stop playing as he would never win one. It never happened, and on their last visit, the Nintendo host was actually asked to drop Mario Kart from the Dreamcast title. The Dreamcast was in this moment and that’s when this man showed up. He was a full time salesman for Nintendo, who is the CEO of Nintendo and a man he was responsible for making Mario Kart games come to the Dreamcast. He was the voice of a brand called Nintendo, and they had a unique game called Super Mario Bros called Super Mario Bros Land. It was very unique, and you really had to come to our store in order to win it. Nintendo had a large crowd around the house, so many people were going into the store

Of course, becoming the best game in the series is no easy task. At the moment from screenshots and information revealed by Nintendo, it appears as if being the best game of the franchise is a long shot. Nintendo did develop the DS though so they should hopefully be able to make good of Mario Kart. At the moment, the touch screen will be a basic map that will show the racers moving around. Meanwhile, the top screen will display the game along with a speedometer and the top four racers. Although this display of the two screens does make the game more efficient, the DS was not made for these type of simple uses.
The gameplay on the top screen is very similar to what the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 version offered. At the moment we will be seeing the usual cast of Toad, Peach, Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Bowser. Hopefully Nintendo will double this and add eight more racers. There is also nothing new with the game either. I hope that we will be seeing some new features with the game.
The last major update for Mario Kart DS was back during e3 2004 so we expect Nintendo to use the time they had to build up the game. The touch screen could definitely be used at a much greater extent. Mario Kart is losing its touch and really needs new ideas to come back and show what a top game should be like. Adding easy to use menus should be no problem
