The Marketing Mix
The marketing mix is also referred as the four p’s and is one of the fundamentals of marketing. It is know as the framework that helps marketers consider all aspects needed to satisfy customer needs. The four P’s consist of the product, place, price and promotion. Our application development team is working alongside our company Drew Crawford Apps based out of Austin TX.
Our application is a Doggy Match Maker application for smartphone devices with data capabilities. It allows pet owners to find other dogs based on dog description and specifications. It is a customized profile for dogs with a brief explanation of what they are looking for in other dogs. Their personal profile will include gender and will also specify if the owner is looking to breed or simply companionship for his or her dog. This application will be GPS based and can tell you how far these dogs are from your current location. Both parties have to agree to each others specifications before even connecting via chat. Example: A thumbnail of the dog pops up at random or you can set specific filters to specify your search. If you like the picture and description of the dog you come across and feel it would be a perfect match for yours then you click to connect with this person. The person on the other end can either agree or deny chatting with you. If both parties accept and like each others profiles then they will open up a private conversation among them, exchange personal contact info and create your own doggy love story. We will focus on product originality vs. product differentiation due to the fact there is no application out in the market that focuses on dogs. As a result we will have to make sure that all the copyrights and patents are in place to insure our products originality and profits.
The place also known as the distribution strategy we are aiming for are “the Wal-Mart shelves” of the application world. In other words we want Google as well as the Apple market to purchase our Doggy Match Maker App. This would be our ultimate end result. In order for us to get to that level of success we would have to build a portfolio with our current company Drew Crawford Apps, who is our mother company based out of Austin TX. The sales would have to be profitable enough to even be considered by the Google and Apple market. Once attaining that spot it would simply put us on a higher pedestal with a profit share with these markets.
The price is going to be a challenge with an advantage. The challenge is within the fact that this is a brand new application, one of a kind therefore this will also be a Ginny-pig and runs the risk of becoming
