Will the Media Keep Abusing Their Trump Card?
Will the media keep abusing their Trump card?Zacchary Investigates the obvious media bias towards Donald Trump’s campaign.[pic 1]You have probably heard about Donald Trump somewhere. You might know him for being a sexist, racist hunk of human flesh. But truth be told, he is an extremely influential and debatable character who is running for Presidency in America. He is commonly known for his outlandish ideas with radical policies and controversial motives. But whether you like it or not he is a globally recognisable character who has piqued the interest of the media. Donald Trump is an American businessman, politician, television personality, author and is in the running for Presidency in the Republican Party. He inherited his father’s wealth and promptly invested in casinos, golf courses, hotels and other real estate properties. He also hosted a show called The Apprentice which aired on the NBC from 2004 to 2015. He has been around in the media and knows his way around things.[pic 2]He has been a significant political and media figure in the upcoming Presidential election for quite some time. Primarily his surge in the Republican primary comes from an unlikely ally: the media. However, this ally may also be his nastiest adversary. Irrefutably most of this attention is gained through his eccentric comments which appear to generate high levels of controversy. This smart level play takes up 40-50% of media attention and makes him a very debatable character.[pic 3][pic 4]

This powerful and rapid rise to triumph has sparked debate within the media on how to cover Trump, as news companies keep on aiming to keep the snowballing surge of traffic to help media producers reap the profits. With the increasing public interest, this decision seems to make sense. But this puts him everywhere, all the time – with little expense from his campaign. Not to mention making this all the easier for media companies to capitalise substantially. However, this drawn-out coverage does not protect him from critics and liars in the media willing to do anything to hinder his Presidential crusade. He has recently fallen victim to lies and half-truths which are ever dominant in the media, labelling him as “Anti Mexican” which has become a part of his identity making him known for being a racist, Caucasian male hate monger amongst many. What he truthfully said was extensively taken out of context. The media is an industry of people who are fixated in promoting lies to extinguish people of power they do not like, instead of just doing their jobs as reporters. His recent interpretations on the specific matter have been taken way out of proportion and misrepresented in the media as of way of media backlashing on Trump’s public appearance.
